Cool. What is the Brute? Like the color, kind of like a Sahara tan?

The Brute is/was a conversion by American Expedition Vehicles. I always lusted after the 2-door TJ-based Brutes...never liked the JK-based conversions.

So it's still a jeep but with a kit installed? Or is it sold like that?

You could buy the converted vehicle from AEV...but it is no longer being produced. If I remember right, the TJ Brutes were around $60K or so, which was a lot of money back then.

I thought I once saw a conversation kit for the JK but don’t remember who offered it. Love the look of them!

Mopar offered the JK8 kit for somewhere around $8000. It produced a bizarre looking vehicle...a wannabe Brute.

does the top come off the brute? that's one of the major reasons for me buying a wrangler over other 4x4s
