Yep. Not posted in the Pics section previously, but we did cover it in the JL Led Headlight and Fender Lights thread in the discussion side;

I wish they had gone kind of retro. Kept some of the classic look with the modern technology.

"The Jeep Grand Wagoneer*will be a six-figure range-topper that takes on the best luxury crossovers from around the world. Built on the bones of the Maserati Levante, Jeep boss Mike Manley has said the Grand Wagoneer project is “moving forward” and suggested that a price tag of $130,000-$140,000 “could be possible.”

Lame... was really hoping for a blue collar full size jeep suv.

Write your congress critter urging him to stop the endlessly upward safety standards and CAFE regulations.

Those twin screws are the main factor that is spiraling up the cost of new cars and trucks more than anything else.
Just as the environmentalists intended them to.

That has nothing to do with CAFE standards.
It's debatable as to whether that is a safety choice either, more likely the roofline and cage or lack thereof would speak to that more than windshield hinges.

Most likely it's a design choice, especially after looking at the list of things to change for weight & aero, and finding that few people actually put the windshield down vs other choices that people are willing to stake their battle on (fixed axles, etc). It also simplifies production and lowers cost, so likely motivated from within than from external factors.

While you write to your congressperson, be sure to mention that few people use it, whereas doors are more likely to be taken off, yet some states have laws to try and keep you from using the vehicle as it was designed.

Maybe focus on the important stuff like that if you're gonna write notes.

It was designed to have the doors removed (and the windshield lowered) for off-road usage only.

True, but.... with all the reduction in public-works projects and investments in yours and our infrastructure, I'm thinking more and more places could be considered 'off-road' as time goes by.
