What will the JL look like? Here are some concepts.

Jeep Wrangler JL Forum

Alright, to inaugurate our new JL Wrangler Picture section I'm making a thread that is all about guesses. So far the only actual picture touted as a JL is of a JK with (most likely) some new innards they are testing for the JL.

So far, some of the guessed we've seen and heard, the JL will look allot like the JK but with many changes to get it to comply with the government's tougher MPG standards.

Here are a few artist's concepts for the 2-Door, 4-Door, and the rumored Pickup version

Oh, right. Photoshop run amuck.

What's the odds that it will be nothing more than a JK with a non-removable hardtop, as suzq044 suggests?

Is that when both boys and girls will be able to use the same Wranglers?

option one looks kind of cool, but I'll be pleasantly surprised if they come out with removable side panels on a hard top...

To address marketing's requirement for 3rd row seating.

"According to our source, the JL still has a folding windshield, though it’s implemented differently; it has a narrower front for aerodynamics, using a non-raked grille that harkens back to the YJ and TJ models, with squared-off slots. The outer slots have round, seven-inch headlights, recessed slightly, like the CJ5 and CJ7. The suspension is similar. Half-doors are expected to continue along with full doors, both removable.

The windshield had only a slight rake compared with current models. Turn signals were moved to avoid the need for separate side lights. The fender flares can still be removed.

As for the top, it appears to be an “evolution of the current Sportsbar design” with added support so a soft or hard top could be attached."

Probably something like that.

^ Yup. All this has me feeling positive about the JL, especially with the vertical grill observation. I absolutely, positively HATE the angled grill on the JK.

I hope they go back to the hinges on the a pillar for the windshield. the central hinge allows for a lot of movement when folded down because it only attaches in two center points it wobbles a lot. And hopefully it doesn't get anymore aerodynamic looking.

"The outer slots have round, seven-inch headlights, recessed slightly, like the CJ5 and CJ7." Interesting.

So far, the JL is a JK with a longer wheelbase, 8-speed tranny, and a CJ grill.

About as much fun as someone photoshopping copyright material and misrepresenting themselves as an automotive designer and posting images of counterfeit concepts.

I don't see that happening in here... all but one of those images have the original artists credit on them, and the one that doesn't is the Jeep Flattop concept vehicle (a real truck). Soooo....

Those artists were hired by Jeep? I didn't know that...

So just to be clear - OP clearly states that the images are artists concepts (they are), doesn't claim they're his (they're not), doesn't claim they're by Mopar (they're not), doesn't claim they're the new JL (they aren't).

You post an image that is not concept art, claim it is the JL despite being a currently produced non-Jeep vehicle (Beijing Auto BJ40), then claim someone's "photoshopping copyright material and misrepresenting themselves as an automotive designer and posting images of counterfeit concepts" - none of which just happened.

I call you out and you get upset with that? I'm very confused and I think you're being very silly.

But you think I'm being silly, too, so let's let a tomayto be a tomahto and kiss and make up

All true as stated in a previous post, this thread (so far) if for nothing more than conjecture as to what the future might hold for our beloved Wrangler. The only actual Wrangler concept vehicles for 2015 were the ones Chrysler took to Moab last spring (along with other Jeep concepts). They are nothing more than modified JK Unlimiteds and not necessarily what the JL will look like.

They were the Wrangler Africa concept, the Wrangler Red Rock Responder concept (yuck), and my personal favorite, the Wrangler Staff Car concept.
