Black Hills Trip

A couple friends and I are going to be heading to the Black Hills for an off-road trip soon. We are trying to figure out where some legal trails are for us close to a campsite. Can anyone help us get a travel guide started or any good places to go?
Thanks in advance.

That's great! Not many jeep enthusiasts here.

Any info on the jeep trails? I think I might want to take a trip over there this summer for a few days. I've tried to find some info but there really isn't much available about whether or not jeeps are allowed to wheel there.

Look at Black Hills 4 wheelers site. I grew up in the hills, but didn't do much off roading. Mostly a mountain biker when I am home.

There are some really gnarly trails in the hills.

We will be going June 8-11 to Camp 5 rd and a few other nearby trails. Seems like everything is off of Camp 5 road so we will be getting a camp site as close as we can to the trail and wheel that trail and the majority of the ones that branch off of it (except crazy ones) Seems like a great place to start. You need to purchase a trail pass. If I remember right, it's around $20 for a year pass.

Damn I'm planning a trip to the blue ox music festival that weekend. I was thinking somewhere between May 1st-9th. Not the entire time but somewhere over a 3/4 day trip. That's when I'm on break from fall to summer semester.

I don't get done with spring semester until May 11th sadly. It's pretty hard planning around jobs too and thats the weekend that works for both of us. If all goes to plan, our other friend will be trailering us there with the semi. We plan to go once or twice a year. I graduate next year anyways so that will free up a lot of time to go.
