3rd brake light?

I'm thinking about taking off my spare and running just a plate in the back. Am I required by law to have a 3rd brake light in the state of mo? I tried looking on a couple websites and couldn't find a straight answer.

Ya you need it if it's the JK's in your profile. A cj would be grandfathered. Maybe YJ's to. Not sure the year it started but if it came with it you need it pretty much.

They make little 3rd brake lights that fit in the spares center cap hole you can use.
