Trails in the St.Louis area

Hi guys I'm new to owning a jeep and live in the St.louis area. I'm looking for a place I can take my jeep on some trails. Does anyone know of someplace I could go that's not to difficult sense I'm new to off-roading in my jeep. Thanks

Check out dirtopia.com, if it is still up and running. Google rider planet, most of what they have is for bikes and atvs, but they do have some 4x4 places. You might also check with a local 4x4 club.

Also, check out St Joe State Park. They used allow 4x4's.

Hook up with Midwestjeepthing or MidRivers Jeeping clubs, they are great resources in your area. Some places around where you can go:

Lost Creek Road in Warrenton, MO
Moonlight Racing Park, Richwoods, MO
St. Joe State Park, Park Hills, MO
Mark Twain National Forest Roads, Potosi, MO
Flat N Nasty, Salem, MO
Brick's 4x4 Poplar Bluff
Southern Missouri Off Road Ranch SMORR – Southern Missouri Off Road Ranch
Washita (club only)
Sayers Bison Ranch (club only)

I just checked out a few of those places that moonlight place was crazy looking I'll probably need to get my new tires and a lil bit of experience before I try that one out.

Moonlight is pretty awesome even if you're just starting out so long as you have some people with you. SMORR is my favourite but Moonlight is pretty great now that I moved to STL

Washita is no longer open daily, but they do have weekend open wheeling at least once a month for a fee...if you get hooked up with MWJT they usually have folks that go out...but if you have a DD rig I wouldn't recommend it..its ROUGH out there

I don't see anyone here talking about Patawatomi in Fulton. Is it no longer available?
