Hoosier in need of Jeepin' friends and some advice

Hey all, I've been on this forum a while and never even noticed the local sections...needless to say, I'm pretty excited. I recently moved back to Richmond and A. Have only one solid Jeepin' friend left (they keep leaving) and B. This one Jeepin' friend and I have nowhere really left to wheel and fuss about it nonstop/occasionally find spots that we probably shouldn't be looking for to begin with...

That being said, I'm sure that this terrible sorrow is understood by all of you. Not sure how this works yet (like I said, just saw it and am instantly posting), but are there call-outs for events/wheelin' opportunities posted? Do I have to prove my worth/go through hazing? Riddle? Sword in stone? Etc...Mainly, I'm pumped and want...no...need to get off the road a lot more than I have recently. Looking forward to the prospect of this forum helping with that.

Also, anyone know of somewhere in the state which sells inexpensive/used wheels? I just dropped $$$$$$ in the last month and want to get my 35s mounted ASAP, but just want a cheap set of 17's to get me through the winter so that I can buy the set I want in the spring...I promised myself no more big spending and I mean it this time...but those 35's are just sitting there and it's almost too much to bear...might have to put a blanket over them...cruelest of tempations.

Anyways, proud to be a hoosier, can't wait to meet some fellow Jeepers, and praise be to Andrew Luck, hallowed is his name.

Welcome!

There are a couple of public and at least one notable private park (Badlands) in Indiana, but most a long haul from Richmond. There's a Badlands trip under active discussion in October.

I imagine the Ohio forum would be useful if you haven't already checked in there. I live on the east side of Indy, so I'd be curious what you find.

I think there may be a private park somewhere in the general vicinity of Shelbyville, but I don't know any details, just saw a reference to it recently.

Found it: Haspin Acres. South of Connersville, reasonably close to Richmond. http://www.haspinacres.com/

Haspen Is a decent place in a pretty rough area. If you go watch out for drunken idiots in buggies and on quads, they lifeline people out of there about once a month. Great off-road area, but the locals are pretty rough.
