Hoosier Wranglers - New Jeep Club Forming

This is the beginnings of what should become a huge Jeep Wrangler Club based in Central Indiana. We'll do trips all over the state of course. It's hosted on Meetup.com which is a great place to host groups. I have some big sponsors that we'll be announcing soon.

Of course we'll be doing outings/trails but we will also have some technical speakers and demonstrations regarding all things Jeep Wrangler. If you're new to Wranglers and want to really understand your rig this is the group for you. "Hoosier Wranglers" is for everyone, the hard core and the mall crawler.

Check out the site, if you're interested in joining (and I hope you are) simply register on meetup.com and join. We have a kickoff meeting for Nov 20th. This is for folks who use their wranglers as daily drivers and would like to do some off roading without doing damage to their rigs.

We need to form a leadership team and start beefing up our calendar of events.

See ==> Hoosier Wranglers

Let's get busy and create Indiana's largest and most active Jeep group so no matter what weekend it is if you feel like going out and doing something "Jeepy" you have an option. And of course, make plenty of new friends.

By all means sign up, be glad to have you. We got a twitter account setup now so you can follow the events. You don't have to be an expert, in fact, we're going to bring in some experts from time to time on "jeep" things. Anyway, I'm pretty excited. I'm working with one of the Jeep dealerships here in Indy to sponsor us ...

You can even post a picture of your rig once you register and join ...

Just an FYI, you do not need a Facebook account to signup for Meetup.com, you can use any email account you already have ...

Let me just say one more thing. Some of the best trails are in Northern and Southern part of the state, so no matter where you live in Indiana we will be coming to a place near you. The idea is to create one big group so there are enough members that there is always something going on if you need something to do on a weekend.

Let me give you an example. My sons are in a Boy Scout group that has nearly 170 boys, it's massive and well known. They camp every month and do other outings to that month, there are always 30 or 40 plus boys at any give event, sometimes over a 100.

Let's pool together and create the best Jeep group ever with events planned for the North, South, wherever. It's nothing for me to hop in my rig and head to Fort Wayne or Brown county.

Okay, nuff said on this, hope you'll join so we can get some inertia going. I really think if we pull together we can do something big.

Okay folks, thanks for joining, I'm going to do an email blast soon just waiting for a few more members to join before I do. It will point you to a discussion page on our club site and we can come up with a place to meet. I have a bunch of ideas for events and activities. I'm putting little post card flyers on every wrangler I see in town to get the awareness out. There is a Photo site where you can post your rig too.

Watch your email, in less than a week I do a blast and we can pick the place and get things moving. I'm dying to start getting out there on some trails and other things.

PS: Nobody in our family has a Facebook account either ...

We are a statewide group. This way we will have lots of energy. We'll be doing a lot of wheeling in Northern Indiana because there's so much good country up there. Kessie's for starters, but other areas too.

By all means join, You will even be able to schedule events on our groups calender, and all the Northerner's can attend, and you'll be surprised how many from Indy and other areas will drive there, I know I will. We've had 10 people join in 3 days and the site just now went public on Meetup, so I think it's going to grow quite large.

Again, this is not a central Indiana Group, it's an Indiana Group. We actually want and need folks from all areas of the state to join so we can have a variety of activities going on all over that folks can pick and choose from.

Join: Hoosier Wranglers (Noblesville, IN) - Meetup

Here are just a few idea's we'll be talking about during our kickoff meeting. And you can comment and get your two cents in our add more ideas, recommend other locations.

Click ==> Ideas for Off Road Events

Notice how they're all over the state, eventually, you'll get tired of wheeling at the same spots and want to try some of these other areas, and we will have events scheduled at them, this is why we want this be state wide. In a way, the group will be a little decentralized in that local folks in given areas will probably become leaders in those areas planning events and getting them on the calender, and anyone can then be aware and attend if they choose.

Think of all the new Jeepers you're going to meet.

Lot's of signups, this is great folks, we have our first meeting on the 20th, will be publishing events soon after, can't wait. Here's a nice page on the site that talks about the bigger areas with trails in Indiana, we should be able to hit them all in 2015 and I think many from the Hoosier Wranglers will attend Kessie Farms on Dec 13th for their next KJF 101 Course ...

Ya, we hit 20 "Wranglers" today, we started on November 6th so we're averaging 2 new members a day. We meet on Thursday to begin planning events, we're going to Kessie's on Dec 13th, but will have many more events on the calendar soon.

See our map of where members are (what cities anyway)

MAP ==> Hoosier Wrangler Member Cities

Come join us. We are a state wide group @ Hoosier Wranglers (Noblesville, IN) - Meetup

Just signed up. Very new to the Jeep world, and haven't taken mine offroad yet (unless you count an afternoon of back county gravel roads lol) or done any mods... used to ride passenger out in the desert for some offroading in Cali, but it's been a long time. Looking forward to learning as much as I can and maybe making it out to a meeting

We're hitting Kessie's Jeep Farm this weekend, Dec 13th, should be fun, I'm expecting a mud-fest ...

Kessie Jeep Farm - December 13th

So who's going to be our 50th member? We're at 49 right now. I wish we had a winch or some bling to give away for the 50th but we only started a month ago ...

Hey, I might just have become #50!!! I also signed up for the trip next Saturday, but did not mean to as I will be working.

Glad to be part of the group, but I will not be able to make very many Saturdays as I must work on almost every Saturday.

Definitely RockinJeep06, we're be going to the "Cliffs" that's an easy trip for you, see our wheeling places map here. We'll be hitting most of these in 2015.

You can click on any node in the list, zoom in on the map, click to Satellite views and see the actual trails, the Cliffs is in Illinois, Kessie's might not be that a bad of a trip for you, and the Badlands, should all be doable.

We have other sites not on this map that are private Residences with nice Jeep farms that we'll be going to as well. We're going to be doing some combined "Wheeling and Camping" events so if the drive is long for some folks that can camp, I know I'll be doing that for some in Southern Indiana.

Hoosier Wrangler Wheeling List Map

You could Join anyway and see what happens, we're going to be Wheeling in all neighbor states, we have two or three members already near you, see our member map @ Hoosier Wrangler Member Map

There's no cost, just join and follow the events, we'll definitely be hitting the "Cliffs" in your state.

No, what I was trying to say was, I accidently signed up for Kelssie's when I was trying to join the club. If you will, please let the powers that be know I will not be going on that trip. I won't get to make very many Saturday runs, as I work almost every Saturday. SUCK!!!!! I will make a few though.

Of course, if the powers that be wanted to have mercy on DAWG, a Sunday run or 3 in the mix would never be a bad thing. Hahahahahaha!!!!
