Headlight regulations?

I am thinking about replacing my headlights in my 2015 JKU but before I do so I was wondering if there are any regulations concerning what I can and can't use here in Ontario.

you can use whatever you want... just don't be surprised if you get stopped. LOL

in all honesty, they legally have to be white in colour. HID's in halogen housings are illegal, as bright as they may be they will blind oncoming drivers. if you want something brighter than stock with the least chance of getting ticketed, I'd look into a silverstar bulb or something like that.

if you want to have much brighter light, you can always do a projector retrofit. they're time consuming and can be costly, but allows you to run HIDs. That's the route I went for my tj. I retrofitted Morimoto Mini H1 projectors into factory JK housings and am running 6000K HID's. the output is astonishing, and the cutoff is super sharp, and best of all they don't blind other drivers.

pictures never do them justice, but at least you'll get an idea:

Thanks for the input. Your photos show a great improvement over the stock lights. Truth is, I don't have the, "know how" or the, "hands" to complete a job like that. I guess I'm looking for something that's more take out and put in. Always wished I had the mechanics knowledge and abilities. I give myself a pat on the back when I change the wipers.

The headlight Replacement on your JK is a breeze, 6 plastic clips and 4 tiny screws a headlight. Takes about 15 min for both lights.
I'm in BC and the regulations are that pretty much everything is not legal in not DOT approved. I run a set of KC Hilites LED headlights, they are a direct replacement and are DOT Approved so even if Cops stop you they cant legaly do anything. They are however $800 a set :/
