You can't borrow, nor buy, a used one, because they are locked to the VIN of that vehicle's owner. I don't know of any other (free) method of calibrating your speedometer.

I have a 2012 JKU with 35 on original 18 rims with Nav and I did not have to recalibrate cause it was right on with the nav.

You can buy a used one. You just have to make sure the original owner has returned all his settings back to stock. I bought a used Superchips flashpaq that the user said was returned to stock......He had forgot to take one small thing back to stock. He lived in Florida and me in Michigan. He simply called Superchips and explained things. I then called them and hooked the flashpaq up to my computer and they cleared it for me. I purchased it for $150 compared to $349. It works great!
