local help with stretching a jk hood

First off I'm not a body guy at all, tried it hate it and give credit to those who have the patients for it. I'm swapping a jk front onto my tj and stretching it 5-6" for bigger radiator and coolers. The grill and fenders are done just looking for some help with the hood. It needs to be lengthened and narrowed might need to blend the cowl. Have $$ or can trade for other work, tig, tube bending have a tj front clip I'm selling......... Jeeps in Berlin here's what I've got so far.

Well, if I were you, I think I would talk to a body guy who does fabrication. It looks to me like you need to extend the cowl, not the hood, then hinge the hood to the new cowl extension. I'm not sure how it works on JK's, but that seems to make sense to me if they have the same external hinges as a TJ.

PS, you might want to call some metal working shops, or even try a tech school in the area. That would make a great project for students under supervision of an instructor, and they should do it for the cost of the metal.

Very best wishes!

I went to bcit must have had a brain fart there didn't even think about that. I'll give them a call today. I thought about bringing the cowl to the hood but that would make engine maintenance more difficult and right now I have a set point to work to that's centered already. The hinges are different but there in the same spot, I can fill the 3 holes and redrill the 2 for the jk hood. I figured cutting the top skin a few inches past the hinge move that to the cowl and fill that gap.

Got the hood temp bolted on just to see how far off it was. The foward tj hinge holes bolt right up and its really not that far off. I think the easiest way to go would be getting another hood, cutting the back section with hinge pockets off and welding it on the hood I have. Is have to brace the underside back up and cover the old hinge pockets but it doesn't seem to bad.
