Advice on buying Jeep

I am currently shopping around for a Jeep. I guess I need advice or tips from people as to what I should be looking for when I go check out all of these Jeeps that people are selling. In short, I don't want to inherit someone else's problems. So, is there anything specific that I should be looking for? Thank you in advance for your help.

Well, depending on the years you're looking at, there are some specific things..like on TJ's you need to really inspect the frame/control arm mounts etc for rust and rot. Put your fingers in the holes on the side of the frame and poke around for rust too...
