Looking to know if any westchester county or near by area Jeepers that go off roading. I have an 06 Rubicon and would like to get a group to offroad. At the moment I try to make Rausch Creek Off-Road Park once to twice in the summer. I don't go more bc only have one friend that goes offroading with me. Also working on the Rubi at the moment. Anyway hit me up and maybe we can meet up or plan a offroad trip.

welcome to the forum. a bunch of us from the forum go to Rausch Creek once a month or so. we are going up next weekend for our last trip of the season (Oct. 30th - Nov 1st.) you are more than welcome to join us. we get up to RC on friday afternoon, set up our campsite, start a fire, and hang out. saturday we wheel all day, start a fire, have a beer, and hang out. and on sunday some of us wheel before we go home and others pack up and go. here is the thread about the trip: http://www.wranglerforum.com/f23/haunt-the-creek-roll-call-37781.html. if you have any questions you can post them in that thread of PM me.

Mark,

I live in Briarcliff Manor just outside Ossining. I also need to offroad more myself but have been working real hard and My jeep just got road tires for now until I buy my offroad wheels and tires. This should happen this spring. So I will post here when I plan on going and hopefully we could get a group to go.

Alright.
Also, a point of advice:
If you have good on-road tires, simply purchase a set of dedicated off-road tires and wheels. This way, if you pop one, no biggie! You still have your on-roads to get you home.
Interco Super Swamper LTB's are inexpensive, and GRIPPY. Slap a set of those on a set of 15 or 16" wheels, and the whole combo (for 4) should easily be under a grand, shipped! Check out Desert Rat- they have some quality combos with these tires. I HIGHLY recommend steel wheels for off-roading- not as painful to replace if/when you bend one, and much more scratch/dent resistant than aluminum- Mark W.

Katonah Jeep

Hey guys I'm a new Jeep owner in Katonah, NY. I haven't been off-roading with my jeep yet I was in the army for 8 years so I'm used to driving the humvees off road I'm looking forward to playing around in the jeep. If any of you know a good off-road shop in the area please let me know. and if there are any get togethers.

Guys, I'm in Yorktown and belong to a group of local guys from Westchester who wheel together every few months or so. We're not an official club but we do try and get together every now and then. We have a run planned for September in Mass. and one in October up in the Catskills. Shoot me a PM if you'd like some details :) .
