Attn NY wheelers: Tar Hollow Off Road Experience

Saturday, June 13 2015 come on out to join Long Island Off Road Club, inc for a great day of trail riding and great times on private property in the Catskill Mountains on the Tar Hollow property in Hancock, NY.

There will be 3 different group levels: greens, blues and those looking for more of a challenge. Each group will be lead by an experienced guide with the necessary tools/equipment and know how to get you through anything.

Most of the trails are designed for stock to modified vehicles...all vehicles must be street driven, registered and insured.

We will be offering for those that need or want it, an introduction to off road 101 type class with hands on instruction and trail riding with experienced drivers who have been in the off road game for a long time.

There is a cook shack/pavilion on the hand for breakfast and lunch. As a paid participant you will receive a meal ticket to pick up something to eat. Food will also be avail for purchase if you want more.

There will be t-shirts, other swag and raffles for purchase too.

Your purchase price $50 gets the driver onto the trails, with a meal ticket, an event t-shirt and a raffle ticket. Passengers are $12 and get them onto the trails and a meal ticket.

We are limiting the event to between 50-60 vehicles so we can keep the groups small and fun continuous...

Some great places to stay if anyone wants to turn it into a weekend getaway:
Beaver Del in East Branch: cool bar/restaurant/campground very close to the event property

Hancock House: nice old style hotel, in town of Hancock with an on site bar/restaurant

Capra Motel: nice, clean and pleasant motel in Hancock

Question Questions...

I'm signed up along with 3 other jeeps.
We have a few questions.

1) How does grouping work? We won't be separated correct?

2) Although we all signed up for "Blue" trails, are we going to get the chance to do an occasional "black" trail? (only reason we picked blues is because we have to leave Tar Hollow and head down to Rausch Creek after)

3) Will there be opportunity to purchase additional shirts there? (my passenger was indecisive... females )

Sorry for so many questions! This will be our first run with LIOR and at Tar Hollow! Excited to meet many of you.

1) How does grouping work? We won't be separated correct?Correct, you can stay together

2) Although we all signed up for "Blue" trails, are we going to get the chance to do an occasional "black" trail? (only reason we picked blues is because we have to leave Tar Hollow and head down to Rausch Creek after)the trails are set up as such- there is a main trail or loop, about 20 miles long. Off of that loop are harder trails, called hero trails, think blue to low black, that return to the main trail once you complete the challenge. The green group will stay on the main trail, the blue group will do the main trail and all of the off shoots and the black group will move directly between the hardest of the off shoot trails.

3) Will there be opportunity to purchase additional shirts there? (my passenger was indecisive... females ) Yes, there should be leftover run shirts avail, plus the landowner has his shirts avail for purchase also.

Sorry for so many questions! This will be our first run with LIOR and at Tar Hollow! Excited to meet many of you.
Don't sweat it...ask anything you want. I think people will enjoy this property. It's not beat up or barren...the scenery is really nice. The elevation changes are cool. The trails go up and down two ridges, you're never going flat or straight for long...there are quarries all over that we can make stops and play in....this is our first event we LIOR is having where the public is invited. It's new, exciting territory for us. We hope you enjoy the run.
