Long Island frame work needed YJ

Sup guys...need some help im getting conflicted reports. one side i hear that doing framework is technically illegal? on the other side i hear people say they've done repairs themselves with a simple flux core welder which im not sure is safe. I have some rot in the rear shackle bots on both sides and the rear cross member id need to get replaced/ repaired.

Does ANYONE do, know someone who does frame work in the Suffolk county area? Ive called body shops they dont really do that work i assume. Ill get some pictures up...This is kind of stalling my project jeep that im restoring... Im in Port Jefferson area but any direction help would be appreciated!

But they are really backed up right now, so you might be in for a wait.

Frame repairs on YJ's and TJ's are a thing.
Especially the shackle mount areas.
Autorust sells sleeves for these areas, a competent welder can do the install.

Goonies is great- (631) 639-5350
Otherwise try Evan's 4x4- (516) 384-5349
Or try JeepGuy - (631) 831-3993

I had more rot than that on my jeep and it cost me 1200. Passenger and driver side between front and back wheels and a few more spots around the wheels. Formal welding in Huntington. They did a great job, a little pricey but good work

@Fromano523 - Thanks man...yea i went a different route. i think i got too desperate, but linked up with a guy who is doing it for me and it would be done right now...but i need a new YJ tub. mine is in horrendous condition, and actually im going to see a jeep today that i might engine swap and if all goes well i may not need to weld. That 1200 doesnt sound so bad, ive heard costs up there around 2500 even more ...i would just cut my losses at that point if that was the case.

No problem hope that swap works out for you. Facebook has a page called Long Island wrangler sell that you should take a look. Always people looking to get rid of older model jeeps or part outs. Just for future reference
