Tar Hollow Off Road Event

Jeepers,

It's that time of year again. Time to go wheeling in the beautiful Catskill Mountains with Long Island Off Road Club. This year's event promises to be bigger and better...

We've cut a whole bunch of new trails leading to obstacles, and will continue to make new stuff right up until the event.

We've added on site camping!!!

We've added a guided night ride!!!

We've added a self guided option!!!

On site food avail, raffles, t-shirts all the things we have had in the past will be back!!!

Check out the flyer, and go to LIORclub.org to register

Any questions? Feel free to ask here or PM me.

Thanks.

Thanks for the heads up Steve.
My ride's been on jack stands since late Dec but she'll be back and better than ever by this event.

Hey Roger...I know that feeling well...mine is on jack stands usually every other Monday-Friday...then I go break it again and it goes back on the stands...a vicious cycle...can't wait to see you up there...

Here is a quick write-up from a recent trail trip with a well respected NE club, E4W.
It has been edited to redact last names.

"What a day! A long day too.

This trail reminded me of paragon in some ways. Not in the degree of difficulty or number of obstacles but in the sense of adventure you get from exploring a huge piece of land. LIOR is still looking to break out new obstacles so we were encouraged to find them and try them out, blazing new trails if you will. Right now the way the trails are set up is that even the less aggressive rigs can do the whole loop, or I should say loops, picking and choosing which obstacles each person tries. So how did I rate the trail? On a fun factor I rate it high, lots of wooded trail with some water crossings and you cover some miles, with loads of potential and still hidden fun. Obstacle difficulty, hmmm, that's tougher to convey. Plenty of fun stuff and the rigs we had with us that day didn't conquer 100% of the lines we tried. We had Chris and Chet, We had my rig and we had John and David who had some pretty impressive Jeeps along with our most generous hosts LIOR. Is it Buggy land yet? No. but there is no reason why a guy with a built rig can't have a great day playing in the woods, everyone we had with us said they had a blast. This trail is only going to get better as LIOR spends more time there shaping some of the trails....................................

Would I go again, definitely! If I didn't already have a prior commitment I'd be heading out there for their Tar Hollow Run they have as an open run in June. Well worth the trip if you have the day open.

Thanks again to Steve and the other LIOR guys for hosting us."

Looking forward to it.

Excellent...it's going to be a great time...we just had a weekend of trail clearing and cutting and opened access to to three more obstacle areas. We have about 8-10 total areas where you can try your skills...rock crawls, ledges, quarries, mud if you like...plus the nearly twenty miles of rolling green and blue trails.

On site camping, on site food, guided night ride...raffles, t-shirts....

You snooze, you loose...

We had a tremendous weekend in the woods....weather was amazing. The food was delicious, the trails were cool and the raffle was awesome...night ride, ice cream, rocks, hills, obstacles, camping, s'mores....

I had a chance to meet forum member Roger B and he's a great guy. He's even joining the LIOR family. And on top of that he even won a cool raffle prize...a 25lb CO2 tank setup for filling tires and running air tools on the trail.

Overall it was a pretty epic weekend.

It really was a great day out there. I was in the Green group with John and Roy as leads. Did the main green loop but we dipped into a lot of blue trails along the way as everyone was doing great.

Wish I could have stayed for dinner and the raffle to meet more people. As a person new to offroading it's great to meet people who know what these vehicles are capable of.

Hope to go again next year.
