i know what your sayin low, there seems to be people from new york on the forums but no one that posts in the new york section, i tried to start a thread in here for ny but no ones posted in it.
Hey guys- low, where upstate are you?
And Sam- I'm waiting on a replacement driveshaft for my rig- there's a little off-roadable area down by me, but nothing great.
There are a few places up in the Dacks, I'm told, but I need to find out more- Mark W.
ive never been off roading before, so id like to start out with beginner stuff and just get her really muddy, my wife is itchin to have some fun in the jeep too. i wanna work my way up and i gotta be careful its my daily driver but im down for some fun, pm me if you guys want my cell number we can hook up and find some places to get the jeeps dirty
There's a decent beginner place near me- nothing fancy at all, but some good mud, and a few stumps and small rocks. You could EASILY take a Subaru through there, so it's nothing that'll hurt a Jeep, but good to learn a bit on. Teach yourself to drive slow on the stumps and such. Let me know if you guys want to swing down. Low, it would be a haul for you for nothing fancy- not a bad run down from you, though, Sam.
Sometime this summer we'll all have to head north
Also planning on post-wedding wheeling on June 20th at Rausch Creek- open invite on the forum here somewhere... Mark W.
Sam- I havent done much offroadin either so im in the same boat but U have the Rubi so it will be easier to get yourself out of a jam. I just got the 4 cyl 5 speed. I dont mind meetin up with sam (I can be in albany in 15 min) and shooting down sometime. It would be fun to have some jeep guys to wheel with.... Let me know!
Nice- I thought you were farther up than that...
Hmm- if you guys want, I'm free next Saturday if you wanted to come down. As I said, it's not a very big place, but there are some nice places for a drive, and next weekend is due to be gorgeous (top down, doors off, covered in mud- perfect! ) Mark W.
i have friday and saturday off this week, and the wife wants to go with for some off roading, i wanna shoot guns on friday or sat morning but everyone pm me with cell numbers and i'll pm you mine back and we can all meet up somewhere, how far away from albany are you duke?
Tact- we're doing a mini-meet down by me- read:
I can do Saturday morning- sure!
We're at 2585 Salt Point Tpke, Clinton Corners NY. Take 87 down to 90, take that east to the Taconic, and take that down to salt point turnpike- easy trip. When you get there, call me (845)492-1886. There's a Stewart's right there where I could meet you.
Since you guys are so close, you should caravan it- Mark W.
Hey guys- update! My buddy Adam just told me about a big run to Rausch Creek in PA this weekend! Going to have to swing that instead- you are all MORE than welcome to come with! A bit more of a haul, but well worth it! Tons of trails, and all kinds of stuff- from plain dirt roads to hardcore stuff. It'll be my first trip, and would love the company! Planning on heading down EARLY Saturday morning- let me know- Mark W.
Mark- Hey I wouldnt turn down that for sure! Take some good pics and let me know how it is. I would love to go there at some point! We can do up north this summer also. Keep in touch!

Low- I'm now leaving tonight, actually. No digicam, but there WILL be pics on JK-forum and JKowners for sure- there's about 60+ rigs going, so there had better be pics I'll try and take some if I can get the digicam to work (unlikely)- maybe the weekend of the 24th-25th, you guys can come down for a ride- Mark W.
