Hey havent been on the full site in a while, just saw your message about grinding getting into second gear. Mine is also a 5 spd and I dont have any problems getting into or staying in gear (2nd, 4th, R) I did have that problem when I had my 3" body lift on the jeep but since swapping that out for the 1.25" BL I havent had that problem.

I know that was an old message I'm answering, did the problem go away?

    Perfect!!!!

Man, thanks SO much for the info!

I really think this is the way to go. I think I'm going to upgrade to the Brown dog MML though as it seems to be the best.

One more question...you're the second to say YJ brake lines...is there something wrong with extended TJ lines? Or are YJ lines just cheaper?
  3. PaddysPub
I love it and it doesnt wander at all so far. I would definitely recommend it but yes it is a lot of work if it will be your first time. and
read over the instructions several times so you can think of tools you may need that you do not have.

    Any questions feel free!

(Sorry for the multiple posts lol)

Also here is the link to the Zone instructions as provided with the lift.
    http://4x4media.info/instructions/zon/J1425.pdf

The most difficult parts were getting holes lined up for the motor mount lift, had to loosen (not remove) all three bracket bolts on the driver
side because you cant get the thing out from the top. The transfer case linkage under the body cannot be bolted back up without an extra set of
hands or a very creative use of socket extensions like I had to do. and the rear track bar bracket install is kind of tricky. You have to bolt
on the bracket, drill three new holes and then install the new bottom bolt, remove the first one and then install the top and side bolts, then
finally re install the main one. And when you look you'll say how am I going to get a drill in there but if you let the axle fully droop there
is plenty of room. (you'll see what I mean)

I torqued it down and now I only have a very slight shimmy between 40 and
    50. I am adding a steering stabilizer next week that should help minimize that as well.
As far as the installation goes, Def not a mechanic, have no air tools, had to rent the spring compressors, between me and my buddy had just
enough tools to get the job done, and you will want an extra set of hands when doing some of the things like the transfer case linkage bracket.
I can feel that there is extra stress on the driveline due to the slightly changed angles and I am expecting a drop in MPG but what can you do
    you know?
I can say that coming from the 3" B.L. to this while also replacing those old shocks and springs.... the highway ride is a million times
smoother. I will be adding YJ front brake lines tomorrow when they come in that way I dont have to worry about ripping the stock lines when I
take it up to north georgia this weekend.

Of course I dont mind, I am very excited after finishing this phase.
When I got the Jeep last year it had the same tires on it with a 3" body lift. It drove great minus some jarring vibration on the highway
around 70-80 but it was all stock suspension at that point so I have to assume it was a combination of an out of balance tire or just old shocks
and springs. BUT it was as I said stock suspension and I could whip that thing around corners and not worry about anything.
I am VERY happy that I can say I do not have ANY drive line vibes. My first two drives were to my alignment shop and then to work, both trips
were terrifying, I had never experienced death wobble before and it happened several times that day. Not to worry, i did some looking and found
that I did not completely tighten down my front axle track bar mount.
