Is there any difference in the off road capabilities between a Saraha or a sport?

No off-roading capabilities difference between these two TJ's. According to the wiki, most of the differences are cosmetic only.

Sahara: which came standard with most available options, including body color fender flares and alloy wheels, also included with the Sahara edition are special green trail-cloth seats with storage pockets, interior door panels with pockets, front bumper mounted fog lamps, and plastic ends on the front bumper)

Some of the Sahara's that I have seen do not have this special seat coloring. The rest of the features listed above are there.

From my research, the best off-roading feature that is included from the manufacturer is the Rubicon over all the other models. This vehicle has the Dana44 differentials over the standard Dana 35's on the rest of the vehicles. To tell if your vehicle has them, the tell-tale sign is the special shape of the differential housing as seen here:

DANA 44 DIFFERENTIAL DIFF COVER HEAVY DUTY OEM - $15.00 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce

There is debate on the merit of the Unlimited due to the extra 10 inches in length (103 inches over the standard 93 ince wheel base). I can see this being a benefit to some, but I don't rock climb in a vehicle, so you'll have to get opinions on this vehicle from others more knowledgeable.

Hope this helps, and welcome!
