Newb from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba
Hello all! Finally fulfilled a dream of owning my first Jeep and found a 1987 Wrangler with a 4.2L and hardly ANY rust at all ! Must say the hardest part is figuring out what previous owners have done to the old girl before trying to remedy problems. First and foremost is the timing really seems to be off even after new plugs, tuning by ear, and still "lopes" under a constant load (25mph max here on the base). Hit a bump and it really seems to try and chug along. I have noticed a leak at the front of the carburetor which has been replaced with a Weber. Have the rebuild kit and going to try that on the carb, which will be my first carb rebuild. Any hints on a website or link that helps out virgin rebuilders? Thanks in advance for any help and will get some pics uploaded as soon as I can. Internet is REALLY slow down here but will get them done.
