Newcomer with a 2016 Sahara near Chicago -- questions about lift/tires/overall height

Good evening all,

I've been a longtime lover of Jeeps, born and raised in a Jeep family (On the fifth so far), but I finally have a Jeep of my own. I absolutely love how the wrangler drives. I miss the power of my 2003 grand cherokee V8, but am elated with this new baby! I've been wondering about modifying my JK but have been very hesitant in lifting it. Some mechanics have told me that if I go off-roading, then it would void the warranty & extended warranty. I plan on strictly street driving to eliminate that possibility. I've tried reading the "beginners guide to lifting" thread but it was a bit over my head. I'm not up to snuff with all of the car lingo

It's a 4 door, 2016 sahara

I've been shopping around and looked into a 2.5" and a 3.25", but I've been seeing that people have problems with the wheels becoming wobbly, when going over a particular speed?

Would it be recommended to just get larger tires instead of lifting to avoid future shock + alignment problems? I just have my stock wheels now.

Lastly, I've been going back and forth over the height because I would like to know what the overall height will be with a lift and larger wheels. Some parking garages have a maximum heights of 6'3" or 6'5", and I would like to park in a garage when the time comes.

Please let me know if I can clarify anything!

Kristyn
