not able to ingage 4 wheel low

have a 2 inch lift on my jeep, not sure if that has anything to do with my issue. I can shift into 2h & 4h but it will not transfer into 4l, makes a growling noise when i try to ingage it into 4l. I don't see anything binding it or getting the way.
Any ideas? or help.

If this is something new & you used to be able to get it into 4Lo, odds are that nothing more has happened than your t-case shift rod has pulled out of adjustment from where it is held by the shifter.

Find the circled bolt on your linkage & you'll see the rod it holds that connects to the transfer case. Odds are, that bolt loosened slightly & the rod pulled out of adjustment a tad. Loosen the bolt (1/2" wrench) & move the rod back in a little more so it is being pulled a little more.

If this is a new Jeep, be aware you must be either stopped or at a dead-slow crawl to engage 4Lo.

And in neutral

Also, check to see if your lift is a Body lift, My 1.25JKS bodylift came with a relocation bracket, and took some fiddling to check my 4lo to engage right every time.

see if you have new pucks between your frame and body tub.

might look something like this:

That kinda depends. With my previous 5-speed, it shifted more consistently into 4Lo with less grinding if I was at a dead-slow roll in 1st gear. With my automatic, I had to be in neutral. :)

Mine started being difficult when I put on my t-case drop. The body lift will mess it up to. You can get a bracket from teraflex off quadratec for like 50 bucs. I have to be in neutral as well to shift. Seems different case by case.

Just about to check mine too. I knew a quick search would find the answer and I was hoping for a picture (which of course I found thanks as always to Jerry). Another reason why I love this forum.
