Wobbly Braking...?
I can feel a wobble in the front when braking. I'm not looking to fix this myself but I'd like to know what I might be getting into...thanks ahead of time if you take the time to answer....

Sounds like warped brake rotors. Fairly simple to do, but if you are not very mechanically inclined, maybe a friend can do it for a 6-pack.

It's entirely possible it's simply a warped rotor...there's no reason why you can't fix that yourself if that's all it is.

Az, you're too quick! lol

I'm on them tonight!

could a warped brake rotor also cause the jeep to veer off to one side when i apply the brakes moderately hard? especially downhill

AzTJ 03-11-2010 11:59 PM

^ Usually that is a sticky caliper. One side isn't depressing hard enough as the other and is causing the pulling to one side.

APPSTATEwrangler 03-12-2010 12:05 AM

so what is causing the caliper to stick, a faulty brake line or just a bad caliper???

AzTJ 03-12-2010 12:10 AM

Hard to tell without looking. Could be a sticking guide pin in the caliper, a bake line that is flexing (bulging) too much or a rock stuck in there.

ok, well it is pulling to the right so im guessing it is the left caliper that is sticking, so ill check it out tomorrow.
thanks, and sorry to hijack this thread Jsquared, haha
