Are you sure you are getting spark at the spark plugs and fuel coming into the engine. Sorry im not a pro or anything just a couple of things i would check.

At one point I was able to pull my key out of the ignition while it was running. Then eventually the jeep wouldnt start... not a sound. So I replaced the ignition (where the key goes in, the technical term is something other than ignition switch. They gave me a hard time at Autozone) Once I put in that new switch it starts like a charm. You will need some specialty tools to get thru the steering column though.

Someone please help !!!! I have a 1989 jeep wrangler islander with 4.2. Starts up and runs for about 20 mins then dies. The engine turns over but wont start. If you let it sit for a while it will start back up. Acts like it aint getting fire. Not sure if its the coil or ignition control module. Any suggestions
