No you should be able to disconnect the linkage...

No you should be able to disconnect the linkage and push it into 2 hI. I just got done putting in a Novak Cable shifter....love it

I have a 98 TJ,
I am running 33's on the same set up, 373 gears. auto tranny and an inline 6.
I probably wont re-gear, seems to work out fine for me...its not my daily drive either

The 4 cylinder is what really hurts the value of this. It does look to be in good shape...any rust?

I was in the same situation a few months ago, I didn't want to go real big, but I wanted something tall enough to run 33" tires. I went with a 2" pro comp spring lift, 1.25 " body lift and a 1.25"...

Does anyone have dimensions on how to build a hard top caddy for a TJ, I see a few videos on youtube, but the are for JK verses TJ, not sure if there is a huge difference

In my case, it was adding a small lift 2" on top of a small body lift 1.25", on top of a motor mount lift 1", just to go to a larger 33" tire

I went with a 2 inch pro comp springs, pro comp ES9000I shocks 1.25 body lift and a 1" motor mount lift, 33" BF Goodrich AT. Very pleased with the ride quality.

I had a different jeep a few years...
