History
Finally got my first Jeep July 2012. After a lot of dancing around with the dealership (really should have just gone to another), I ended up getting a lucky break. We originally found a deep cherry red with almost all of the features I wanted (didn't have tow package). So I figured I'd get the part aftermarket at half the cost & install it myself. I put down a deposit (not a down payment) and we sign on the Jeep, they say it'll be delivered from Kansas City to Lincoln, where I live, within 4 days.

5 days go by and I don't hear anything. So I give them a call and get a very sketchy/absurd response. I'm told that the Jeep we signed on actually has $4k+ worth of aftermarket A/V parts installed. As in video screens in the back of the headrests, extra speakers, subs installed in rear cargo, new head unit...now keep in mind this is a TWO door Jeep. For starters, who's going to hang out in the rear seat of this thing and watch movies? Plus with all that extra crap, I wouldn't feel comfortable taking the top off and parking. Ever. They say I can have this one, but I need to pay the difference. No way.

After more debating and my refusal to accept a Jeep that is not practical for my use, nor what was agreed upon, we go back to looking for another. Luckily, another Wrangler, similarly equipped but with tinted rear, tow package, 3.73 (I later found out the original had the lowest gear option - my ignorance almost killed me there, I had no idea what I was doing at the time), bluetooth/Uconnect, and the upgraded factory audio package. This Jeep listed at almost $2k more than our previous agreement, but they were actually in an awkward place and had to work with that agreement. I ended up agreeing to pay $300 more than my original price, got nearly twice as much for my trade-in, and got upgrades I hadn't originally looked for. Natural green was my #1 choice, but it couldn't be found anywhere with even half of my list.

Now I'm a happy Jeeper!
