General Information

Wrangler TJ
Paid cash for it in Feb of 2004. By May of 2004 it had a 4.5" lift and 33's on Crager soft 8's. By the fall of 2004 it had a winch, was on 35's and had 4.56 gears and Detroit lockers both front and rear. Wheeled it without incident for a few years. In the summer of 2006 I traded a motorcycle for an XJ that was sitting on 37's and when I got it home I swapped the 37's onto the TJ. Wheeled it without incident for a few years. In May of 2008 I drove it from KC to Las Vegas and in one afternoon on a mountain trail i shouldn't have been on, 11 miles from cell service without any other rig with us, I broke my drivers side rear axle shaft, the drivers side front axle shaft and fried my winch motor (in that order). Walked 11 miles to get cell service to call for help, got extricated 12 hrs later, fixed what I broke, and 4 days later broke my passenger side rear axle shaft. Decided I'd had enough and headed home. On the wrong side of the Rockies west of Denver my drive shaft gave out so we pulled it off and limped the remaining 650+ miles home on the front axle. Ive daily driven ever since Vegas but as far as "wheeling" hasn't seen anything but trails since 2008. I'd like to upgrade the axles and start playing again but I haven't found the time or money to throw at it.

Aside from the bushings degrading over time, I have no other complaints about this lift but I put it on in 2004 and its the only one I've ever had so I don't have anything else to compare it to.
JKS Quicker Disconnects
Wheel and Tire
Unknown brand black 15x8 D-hole's (I hate with a passion) wrapped in nearly-bald 37" Parnelli Jones Dirt Grips that came off an XJ I traded a motorcycle for. My black Crager soft 8's wrapped in 35's went with the XJ when I sold it.....wish I woulda kept those. I have a free set of 35's that I'm putting on as soon as I stop procrastinating and go pick them up. I think steel wheels was a mistake and my next set will be aluminum. 3/15/2012: back on 35's now
