Just a heads up for other 3.6L owners who use Fram Ultra Synthetic filters. Some point within the last year Fram has moved their manufacturing of these filters from Korea to Brazil and the quality dropped sharply. I’ve used these filters for the past 6 oil changes, all Korean made until this one...

Hello, I was wondering if the 3.8l v6 in the 2007 to 2011 jeep jk have low tension piston rings in the engine? Thank you

This is not a complaint post but a question on a specific issue with some background complaining. Took my 2014 JKU Willy's (140k miles) into the dealership last Tuesday as I had a tick coming from the engine and figured I had thrown a rod or rocker. I had the same problem two years ago when I...

I’ve had an oil leak from the rear main for over a year now, I would find a couple drops after parking. But things seemed to have gotten worse… it leaks a small puddle from another area, not the rear main but the oil filter. I have no idea what exactly is leaking but The last time I changed the...

Hey guys, for the past couple of days I‘ve been noticing a strong burning smell, almost like running rich, when engine braking down a pretty steep hill. The engine sits at 1700-1800 rpm in 3rd going down the hill and only notice the Smell near the bottom but goes away while I’m going up the...

I’m on the trail of this 2017 JKU Rubicon with 24k miles. It’s a “certified“ used. While in deal-making mode, I caught on to something being really odd on the CarFax (short: multiple oil changes by the dealer in a short period, including a month of just sitting) and started drilling into it...

I recently found oil in my coolant but no coolant in my oil (yet) so my best guess is that it’s a blown head gasket. With having 190,000 miles on her I think it’s wiser to replace the engine instead of just the head so I have one on order. I’m going to drive Daisy until the engine arrives so I...

Background I have a 2014 JKU Rubicon Obviously a 3.6 but it’s mated with a manual I’ve put 25k miles on it in a matter of 4 months and my goal it to make this thing last a million miles Currently aftermarket parts are Front and Rear Adams Driveshafts 3.5 inch Rubicon Express lift w/complete...

Noticed this after going for a short drive. What am I looking at here? engine oil/transfer case leak? how serious is this and how easy/difficult is it to fix? I marked the spots where I can see the oil dripping from.

Man do I have a mess. I bought this 1998 TJ with a 2.5L in it. It ran good for about 6 months. When I bough it the oil pressure when at a stop would drop to close to zero. I changed the oil and put Rosella in it and it held for about 200 miles then started doing it again. The heat also went...

JKU 2013 auto transmission( W5A580) with 53k miles. Since it was due, decided to do a driveway transmission drain and refill, along with filter change. Got about 5.5 liters (5.8 qts) of old oil out of the tranny. To my dismay saw a lot of tiny metal pieces in the pan. Pls zoom into the attached...

Trying to get better at working on my own stuff and had a question on my 1997 TJ 4.0L. Is it typical for the oil pressure to read between 20-40 psi and just randomly fall to 5-35 psi and then return to the normal 20-40 again? A little history: Not mechanically inclined. Trying to do more...

Hello- New Wrangler Forum user here! I'm currently driving a 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 3.8 L V6. Currently I am dealing with an oil leak and the issue is finding the source of the leak. Looking underneath, it looks as though it may be seeping through the adapter plate above the oil...

So, after much debate and research on how to recondition my bumpers, trim and side steps I FINALLY DID IT!!! I was so tired of looking at grayed out bumpers and trim I finally decided to go ahead with applying Unrefined Coconut oil!!! Not the liquid kind, but the kind that looks like Crisco. You...

I've searched high and low for anyone having a similar issue. This has been going on for 2 oil-changes. All I come across is one of the two extremes, super low/high, no awkward slightly higher than normal. It's an odd angle, but this is what my electronic sensor reads out. Just a couple...

I've been running Pennzoil Ultra Platinum synthetic 5W-20 since new, and am just about at 45k mi, so due for another oil change. Reading through some threads here, some folks have reported switching to Amsoil 5W-30 quieted down the typical startup clatter/valvetrain noise on the 3.6. Looking...

I just changed the oil on my Rubi, and after cleaning up I discovered that the rubber gasket from the oilpan plug had came off and was in my used oil pan. I never even noticed it was gone when I put the bolt/plug back in. It's not leaking, yet, but I guess I'll be draining it again tonight. :(
