Anyone have the opportunity to use a Pitman Arm Puller on a Jeep JL? I rented a puller from the local auto store and the opening was too small. The JL PA seem to have a very big "saddle" where the arm connects to the steering gear. It seems extremely big and I have to wonder if there is a puller...

I’m replacing my steering and all is well except I can’t get the top drag link removed from the pitman arm. Admittedly, I don’t have a standard puller (need to order online as I can’t find locally) but I’ve tried the two hammer trick, pickle fork, heating it, etc. but it won’t budge. I do have...

I’ve recently been having severe death wobble when hitting bumps on the highway. Recently replaced my upper control arms and track bar. Also Took my jk to the mechanic and they said I need to replace my inner tie rod end and drop pitman arm. To me personally, the drop pitman arm looks fine...

I'm personally a new Jeep owner even though my husband has a 2012 and I have been on this forum frequently just to review others opinions and such given neither of us are mechanically savvy with vehicles. I purchased my 2 dr 2017 Sahara in July and just recently took it in to get a 3.5" lift and...

So, my 2004 TJ has developed the death wobble. I checked all applicable steering/suspension components and can feel a slight "thunk" in the drag link/tie rod/pitman arm when the steering wheel is turned back and forth. I am guessing it is the drag link ends ... but .... 1. Without dissembling...

Hi guys, I've been working on my jeep lately and I'm close to finishing up my Zone 4.25" Combo lift (3" suspension lift, 1.25" Body Lift, and 1" MML) and I added a MetalCloak adjustable track bar. I was wondering if you guys could help me out and let me know if I need a Drop Pitman Arm or just...

I am planning on replacing my steering gear box. I know I will need to take off the pitman arm. The small black circular gasket or seal that is located on one end of the pitman arm (in between the arm and the track bar) - where can I buy a replacement in case I ruin mine? I can't seem to locate...

Background: I recently upgraded my drag link to the synergy drag link. Problem: The dust boot keeps coming dislodged from the drag link as you can see from the pictures. Questions: What do I need to do to fix this? Is the angle on the drag link the cause of this? The spring retainer appears to...

Got my 1999 Wrangler 4.0 Sport in June. Stock, no lift, 120K ... First real task was replacing the leaking steering gear box. Read the posts here (thank you - couldn't have done it otherwise) and spent a few days this week spraying JB Blaster and turbine oil, ruining my two-prong puller...

I think my drag link is wining. Where are you supposed to bang this thing? Looking at the jeep, I've hit it on the right side the inside and even the flat part of the drag link. I'll go get a pitman arm puller from a suggestion tomorrow but I thought I knew how to use a hammer!

I've been doing some reading and I'm trying to get some feedback on the better option. It looks like the adjustable track bar should be purchased in either case if for nothing else at least to provide greater strength and more flexibility in centering the axle. However, is the drop pitman arm...

Looking for a stock pitman arm that will fit a '98 TJ with the 4.0. Mine came with a drop pitman arm & don't think I need it. Thanks

After new shocks and steering damper and alignment, my 03 Wrangler (4" lift...33" tires) still jumps around the road. I have to replace the steering gear box-adjusting the screw on top does nothing, and steering wheel has too much play in it. Can you tell by the pic if I have a drop down pitman...

I had read in a few threads that a drop pit-man arm is not recommended by some. However some lift companies recommend a drop pit-man arm on 4" lift kits. Those that have 4" lift kits have you installed a drop pit-man arm or not? Is it necessary or not. Good or bad results with it?
