So I've been slowly working through the laundry list of problems on my 08 JK. I've had an oil consumption problem that I planned on changing the PCV valve for but noticed today that I have oil build-up around the tranny and engine. I'm guessing the rear main seal is leaking. My question is do you need to drop the tranny on the 3.8L to change the RMS or need any special tools? I can't find any good write-ups on the 3.8L. I am going to change the clutch and upgrade the flywheel anyways along with the master and slave cylinder so this question may be a moot point. I also noticed the front drive shaft is slinging grease so I have a new aftermarket drive shaft to go in too. Just trying to get as much info as I can since I am tearing into it. Only want to do this once. Thanks!
