Hello fellow Jeepsters

I purchased my second beloved chariot used and the previous owner hardwired (12 gauge) a switch directly to the battery (inline fuse) to the high speed of the cabin blower motor. It worked well on short trips but any longer than an hour and the switch melted. I purchased a heavy duty 30A metal switch that also failed internally, the wires get warm but the insulation and contacts have stood up well the problem seems to be with the switches?
I am unable to find any schematics (retired boiler mechanic) for my jeep or I would track down the original system and repair it eliminating the external bypass switch some wanna be electrician devised, any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks
