I just bought some 1 piece AMC 20 axle shafts but they did not come with the bearings or anything else. What all do I need as far as bearings, etc. go and where can I get it?

when bought mine through 4 wheel parts, they came with all the bearings, new backing plates and everything. I suggest calling them. Mine were the G2, what type did you get?

I bought them from a well known Jeep parts store down here in the springs called FN Jeep. This guy has a warehouse with every Jeep part known to man. I got the set for $75 so it was a good deal. Now I just have to deal with the pain of finding all the do-dads that go along with them. Maybe 4 wheel parts can sell just the bearings and what not that go with it.

I would imagine they can. I know Fn Jeep well. I bought a header, radiator, tires and wheels, and also a set of big axles from him for my 82 cj. Good company right there. Did you ask him, him might know or be able to order what you need.

You DO know him well! Yeah he said check with superior and he named another company that I can't remember. I just found a bearing kit on jeep4x4center.com for the AMC 20 one piece narrow track for $39.99 for one side. If you don't mind taking a look, is this all the stuff that came with your axles? Bearing Repair Kit (For One Side Only) 7086K

Yes, I believe so. Nice jeep by the way. Well what I could see from you one photo on your profile. I am out for awhile as I have a wicked piston slap. Planning on rebuilding the 258 here in the next month. Good luck with the axle swap. I also put on a cheap lunchbox locker in mine when I did my swap and love the locking.

You may also want to google instructions on it. There should be stuff in either some jeep magazines or utube or something. Looking at that, they should go through parts needed.BUT, I think that was all I needed.

Detroit seems to be what I hear a lot. Are you happy with it as far as trail function? I'm not too worried about on the road because I very rarely drive my rig on the road other than to get to the trail.

I actually. did the power trax no slip. Figured I would spend the big money when I did the big axle upgrade ina few years. So far, I like it. DId not install one in the front, when that time comes, it will be a selectable.
