I just ordered a AEV 2.5 duel sport lift and currently have a teraflex leveling kit in stalled on my 08 2door, I cannot find my factory spring rubbers and am wondering if the lift will work with the 1" teraflex pucks? I think it should be fine but am looking for some more info. Thanks

If it's a leveling kit then it will raise the front higher than the rear. Since any good lift will get rid of the factory lift, and I'd consider AEV a quality lift. The front should be 2 3/4 to 3 inches of lift and the rear is 2.5 I think (can't remember the measurements) and the leveling kit will make it so it double compensates for the rake.

Thanks, I was thinking of running the 1" pucks front and rear, will this cause me any problems over running the stock spring rubbers.

One of the major benefits of the 2.5" lift kit is that it limits the amount of lift as close as possible (no guarantees) to the where a stock Jeep can be lifted without a "major" impact on suspension/steering/driveline geometry and limit the loads on the joints. An additional 1" of lift is significant once you already have a 2.5" lift.

The AEV is tuned for the nominal 2.5". By increasing the amount of lift you are negating many of the benefits. The only reason to add pucks is to make up for sag from a heavy front end. IMO, if you don't have the stock coil isolators get some and only install the lift kit.

Well here's what I did and by no means guaranteed to be right but It works for me. I installed a 2.5 Teraflex spring lift with 1 inch spacer in the front and a half inch spacer in the rear to offset for the extra weight of my bumpers, winch and larger tire hanging off the back. I ended up netting about 3 inches total lift I also added the AEV geometry correction brackets as well as Bilstein 5100 shocks and exhaust spacers. Everything came out perfect my jeeps its very level and drives better than it did from the factory again this is my experience and all my driveshaft angles appear to be good to go.

Thanks, that was were I was leaning but wanted to see if it would make that much of a difference. I need to tear apart my shop and find the factory spring rubbers.

I believe the factory spring isolators are around 1/2" thick. So if you assembled the lift without the isolators but left in a 1" puck from your leveling kit, you are only gaining 1/2" over the expected setup with the stock spring rubbers.

I suspect it will be doable without too much negative impact, but every Jeep is a little different. If you don't find the stock isolators, I say go for it. But check it out carefully as you go...

Thanks, I guess I can always pull them out if I don't like the results. I have a after market bumper and winch plus a bumper tire carrier so maybe it should be just fine anyhow.

Am I understanding you correctly? You have no spring isolators installed??

You do realize that 'pucks' are just spacers, & that the factory spring isolators are re-installed when using spacers right?..

Maybe that's why he can't find them because they're actually installed I can't see any reason why you would leave them out.

Well I went out and looked closer at the springs and they are installed, I guess that I must of had a senior moment and forgot that I installed them with the kit. Thanks.

I was under the impression the the teraflex leveling kit replaced the factory spring rubbers, is this not the case? They are also made of rubber and if I am remembering correctly they would not work with the factory spring rubbers.
