I know this has been asked a million times. But with the Recon already capable of 35s because it has a very small lift. What would be the best bang for your buck lift kit out there. I would like more clearance without killing drivability. Looking for more trail riding with occasional rock crawl when going to Colorado. I am up for suggestions and looking to spend a couple grand. I can wait on the 35s until these brand new 32s wear down a bit.

I put 35s on my Recon with stock fenders (and 1.5" spacers). Offroad, it needed a bit more clearance to keep the 35s out of my fenders. I installed 2" bump stops to prevent damaging my fenders.

I just bought 1" Teraflex spacers (~$20 ea) to add a bit more clearance in the front. I haven't yet installed the spacers. After installing the spacers, I should be able to go to 1" bump stops while maintaining clearance offroad. Hopefully this will do the trick for me for under $50.

Adding spring spacers do not allow you to reduce bumpstop length. If spring still has more compression left because the coils are not binding (which you do not want) it will still let your tire into your fenders. Also, you gotta check length of shock completely compressed...

It's only been a month, but I do like the Mopar 2" lift with my 35" tires. Plenty of clearance, looks aggressive, and don't need a small ladder to get in/out of it :)

Wish Jeep just threw in the 2" lift standard into the Recon :)
