Asking $23,500 OBO (Will hold for $1,000, non refundable deposit. Shows me your serious.) These are hard to price, so I will consider reasonable offers. No low ball offers please.

Payment via Cash or Cashiers Check. Electronic payment is an option but will have to discuss any fees.

My Story:
Can’t say I am super ready to get rid of my Scrambler and I am definitely listing it a few weeks earlier than I planned. Regardless of when I actually listed it, it’s time to find something a little more family friendly. Now that we have two kids, we have not been able to drive it as much as we would like. We have owned it for several years and we bought it from a couple in Arizona who had it there for 10 years. It's been babied the past several years. Around 8k miles over the last 16-17 years. Clean title in hand.

Details:
First, let me talk rust (or lack there of). I was told this was an older frame off restoration but I have no proof. It would have been at least 20 years ago. True or not, I do not see any rust on the body or frame only some surface rust on pieces that rust easily. All that can easily be cleaned up when you get it. I am not going to clean it up or paint anything so you can decide for yourself. I am not trying to hide anything. Check out the pictures.

4x4, Metallic Red Wine, 1981, automatic, 350 V8 tuned port injection (TPI engine is L98 from 1988 Firebird), 700r4 auto transmission, dual cooling fans, power steering, disc brakes, kill switch, quick battery disconnect, rhino lined interior and bed, tuffy lock box, air compressor with hose for filling tires, 35x12.50r15 tire and wheels, 4" lift, my personal favorite Jeeperman bumper, and hi lift jack.

In 2004, the Gas tank was replaced, it was completely rewired, and painted (exterior and rhino liner). In 2017, the body mounts were replaced and install new seats (front and back). In 2018, new spark plugs and starter. Newer battery is still under warranty and charges to 100%.

Accessories not pictured:
Comes with original half cab hard top and I will throw in a rare half cab softtop (brown) with matching doors, vintage Warn Winch (12k?), and vintage front bumper bull bar too!

Closing:
Probably missing something. Definitely one of the cleaner CJ8’s I have seen. It’s not perfect and so my asking price reflects a reduction for the following:
1. Tires are older and could be replaced. Since this could be a fun personal touch, I will leave it up to the new buyer. $1000 +/-
2. There are a couple dings that are hard to see in pictures. I got a quote to have them fixed. $500-$1000
3. Speedometer wiggled loose. Tachometer is disconnected.

I think it’s that close to being perfect. Starts up easily and drives very well. It sounds great and rumbles like a champ. No mechanical issues or leaks that I am aware of. Please keep in mind this is an older vehicle if you have never owned a Scrambler. A/C is via windows, heat is off the engine, defrost is a towel, and the windshield wipers might as well be decorative. Little things happen all the time but nothing is difficult to fix or adjust and relatively cheap. If you keep up with the fluids, you really shouldn’t have any issues.

Price reduction. $22,500 OBO.

I am patiently waiting for my CJ8 to sell to either find an 04 LJ or something 2012 and newer. None of your friends will have anything like this. I am going to list it on craigslist soon.
