Hi,
I've been reading as much as I can to fully understand what will be involved if I lift my 99 TJ. I've come to the conclusion that I will likely never rock crawl but I do plan to use it on forest service roads and other out of the ordinary places in the great Pacific Northwest. My wife has also decided she REALLY likes the Jeep so I'll need to keep it safe for on-road use.

I've narrowed my lift choices to one of two options (tire size i'm leaning toward is 32x11.5).
1. OME 2" lift
2. RE 3.5 lift

Question:
Why does OME say that by adding a 2" lift the Jeep will be able to handle 31" tires that a stock Jeep will do just fine?

Is this a way to under-promise and over-deliver?

Thanks in advance,
Bob

if you want to keep it very safe on the road and keep it riding VERY good then go with the OME 2" lift...there shocks are known to be very good and cause a very good ride...i think you could fit 32's under there...other 2" lifts whether its a 2" spacer lift or a 2" coil lift say that you can fit 32's

Bob,

If you want the best advice on an OME kit call Dirk at DPGOFFROAD.COM. He can give you a definitive answer on the proper way to lift a rig to clear whatever tire you wish. He has some of the best prices on OME stuff as well :)

I think OME is the track for my needs! Looking at the DPGOFFROAD website even has a Jeep with 32x11.5" wheels installed without the need for a body lift.

Thanks for your help, I'm sure these questions get very old but I think each application is unique and short of spending time with a group of like-minded Jeepers this community is a great way to get questions answered.
