Looking for recommendations on new tires and rims for my 01 Jeep Wrangler. Need rims that can handle winter/salt on roads and summer. I don't want to have to change them out every season.

Can't go wrong with the Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs. Run them on my JK and will be running them on my LJ when I finally pick one up. They're an off road tire that is still rated for the snow. Very little road noise and they ate up all the snow and ice I could throw at them this winter in New England.

I'd go with Goodyear wrangler duratrax or all terrains. Ran both of them before on previous trucks and loved them. I just bought a set of brand new bfg all terrains for the jeep and they hydroplane so easy really regretting buying them.

I had the BFG on my other 01. I just don't want white lettering on outside of tire. I have been hearing good things about the duratracs. But I want something that is all terrain.

What about rims? I am thinking the mamba mr1x, but will they need to be changed out in the winter because of salt on the road?

When you get the tires mounted tell them white letters in

I've been using BFG all terrains for the last 3 years and didn't have any problem hydroplaning.
I know a bunch of people that run the bfgs in other jeeps and trucks and heard a lot of great stuff but in the past few weeks I've had them with multiple rain storms I've been all over the road hydroplaning real bad

check your air pressure. You sound like you are overinflated. I run 26 in mine.

I am planning on getting MT classic III black 15in x 8in wheels. These have 3 5/8in backspacing and -22mm offset. I want to put in 31x10.5x15 Goodyear duratracs. Will this work? I have NO lift.

I had the bfg all terrains, also hydroplaned all over. They also hold onto mud like it is their job so if you do go into mud, bfg's may not be for you.

I run Firestone destination MT's and absolutely love them. Same performance as Goodyear or bfg MT's (in my opinion) but a little better priced.

If you go with any MT's I would recommend siping. Better ice/snow/rain traction and its a cheap thing the tire place can do for you.

Siping? I won't be mudding. If I run the configuration I said above will it work and I won't have to worry about wheel hitting wheel well.

31's will fit a stock jeep. Since you want a rim that (in layman's terms) will stick out more (correct me if I am wrong there, so many ppl are confused about backspace and offset) you will be fine with that set up.

PS, props for knowing the backspacing and offsetting!

And just to clarify, when I typed MT I was referring to mud terrains. When you typed MT you were referring to mickey Thompson. I have to remember that you guys can't read my mind!
