I rolled my 99 Sport 2 weeks ago dodging deer. I found a 2003 Rubicon that already has a 4" lift on it, but it has an auto trans. I have owned 3 other Jeeps over the years, but all were 5 speeds. Could anyone please give me some advise on a Jeep with a automatic transmission since I have never owned one... yet:p ? Just want a heads up on what the pros and cons are with a auto trans. Also could someone let me know what the stock gears are for the 03 Rubicon, not for sure but I think they are 410's ? Should the gear code be in the glove box on the RPO codes, if so , anyone know the code I could be looking for ? Thanks in advance with the help... ;)

All 2003s and later are the 4 speed auto. You will have 4.10 gears in the axles. Will be great on the rocks, but your gas mileage will go down slightly, but not as bad as the previous years 3 speed auto.

Unless they have been changed by the original owner, all TJ/LJ Rubi's are 4.11's. The automatic gets slightly less mpg but is much easier on the trails. The TC is 4:1 in 4 Lo. There is sometimes a tag on the diff housing.
