I recently purchased a 2004 TJ and may need a new soft top down the road. I have been reading a lot on soft tops. I think Bestop seems to be the best but there is a lot of confusion. You have vinyl, denim?, sailcloth, and don't know what black diamond is unless it's a look, (color). The Bestop "Replace-A-Top" sailcloth claims to much quitter than the factory top, I think I have a replacement top and it is plenty noisy, is there anyway I can tell who's it is? Thanks in advance for any info.

On another note has anyone ever used "Forever Black top dye"? I have it but read somewhere that it will streak, so have not tried it.

I replaced the top on my 2000 TJ with the sailcloth and it does seem quieter than the stock. Just took it on a road trip 6 hrs each way and while there was still a lot of road noise and window vibration, the roof didn't flap as much.
