I have looked and haven't found much on this topic, has anyone replaced or had the expansion valve replaced? My local garages say it's from 4.2 to 4.4 hrs to do this. It is on the firewall in plain sight, am I missing something? I was going to attempt it myself but with multiple places calling out 4 hours I was wondering if I was missing something? This in not including drawing vac and fill the system. Please help....

I went ahead and did it myself, 45 minute job at most if anyone needs to know.

Did you reclaim the refrigerant into a cylinder or just piss it out? Also how did you pressure test and pull the vacuum? Or is that 45 minutes to replace the valve and your system isn't pressure tested or charged yet?

I did reclaim it, I pulled vacuum and I am letting it set a few hours to make sure it holds. So far so good. The shop 4+ hours was for just the expansion valve not counting the vacuum and gas replacement.
