I bought a used 2009 2 months ago. I notice a slight "clicking" in the steering wheel sometimes. I looked underneath and I wiggled the two (stabilizer?) bars that connect to the tie rods and another set of tie rod-looking pieces. I can move both bars about 1/2" or so of circular movement. My first instinct is the tie rods are bad. I took back to the dealer that I bought it from (not a jeep dealership) and they checked it over and said that everything is fine and that the jeeps have a different type of tie rod setup (pivoting ball or something) and they are meant to do that.

is this true?

thanks for the help!

I didn't clamp the bushing. I will, but I want to see how long it takes for it to come down first. but when it starts to creep back down, I will for sure.

glad you slept well!
