Good morning. I need some help from you experts. I replaced the original speakers in my kick panels and sound/roll bar with 6.5” kicker 300w 4ohm speakers on Christmas Day. I hear no difference whatsoever. May even sound worse. I installed with polyfill, wire connectors and speaker brackets. My Jeep has the I’m guessing regular radio in it. It has am/fm, sat, Uconnect and CD player. I read on hear that people that changed out those speakers that it made a difference. Did I do something wrong or is it the stock radio. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks and good day.

From my experience, the stock HU attenuates the highs and lows to protect the speakers. I replaced my 730 with a Pioneer 2700 and there was a noticeable difference in the quality of the sound. Also does your JK have the infinity system or stock. You can mod the tweeter on either to lower the cutoff frequency. Look for tweeter mod.

Stock radio sucks. For people with really trained ears you can usually tell a difference with better speakers on a stock radio, but it won't be huge. A new head unit will help a lot.
