purchased a used 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara 4x4 with 3.5 lift and Rockstar Rims and 24000 Miles.

1 month in and the check engine light came on. the code showed up as P0740. I took it to jeep and they confirmed the code, which means 'Torque Converter Clutch'. next thing i know i'm being told that I need a new transmission due to dark fluid and that it is likely due to 4wheelin by the previous owner. only silver lining is that all this is covered by the 100K powertrain warranty.
i'm looking at 1-2 weeks before I get my jeep back.

anybody else experience this issue or have any insight?

Did you purchase it directly from the previous owner, a used car dealer or a Jeep dealership?
Someone should have checked or replaced that fluid before you purchased the Jeep.
Either way.... that could have been an expensive repair.
Good to hear the dealer is covering the repair.
