It's still under warranty. Take it to the dealer and have them look at it. Don't mess with anything yourself or it will give them good reason to deny your warranty claim.

Definitely taking it. Sucks though. Was on my way to OBX for a week. Will spend the week w no AC and hopefully it isn't anything more serious than a compressor.

If you saw "smoke" from the vents you most likely had a freon leak. Check in the area of the compressor and lines for lubricating oil that's also in the system. Maybe a seal went bad. Should be a warranty issue.

Smoke from the vents could also be the HVAC control panel where the switches are. If you just caught it out of the corner of your eye coming from the center vents, the smoke coming from the HVAC controls just was flowed up and was blown forward looking like it came from the vents. The Sebring just did this a few weeks back and it was the vent switch going out.

It's under warranty, have them fix it - ask to be shown what's wrong and to see the part after it's fixed too.

Eek.. keep us posted. This could be another future HVAC issue for the 2012+ JKs.
