LED headlights and "good pricing" are mutually exclusive terms, I'm afraid. You basically have two choices: The Truck Lite LED's, or the JW Speakers. Hilldweller (the resident light expert) touts the JW Speakers...although Truck Lite has just released a new iteration of their version that he has yet to test.

Links coming.

think I'll wait for the new version to come out. hopefully soon
They aren't cheap. I've got the Truck Lites, for their durability more than any other reason, but iirc mine were around $500 for the pair (they're sold individually) off Amazon, plus $26 (I think) for the harnesses from 4wd.com.

Hilldweller will abuse me for this, but IMO they're a marked improvement over the votive candles that come stock on the Wrangler. :)

Pretty sure HD had the JW Speakers in his rig.

I had heard January or February, but then I emailed Truck-lite and they said:

"We do not have a firm date for release on the Phase 7's yet, but tentatively we are looking at sometime in February."

So I'm guessing March or April, but I hope they prove me wrong.

The JW Speakers are excellent, but I wanted a plug and play light.

If you plug and play the Trucklites they blink...

Ray could build you a dongle with a capacitor in it; no need for a full harness with LEDs since they'll get to full brightness with less than 12 volts.

Only place the blinking has been noticeable (at least to my naked eye), is when I'm close to my garage door or another flat surface.

That said, I'd be interested in this thing you call a "dongle" from this entity you call "Ray" simply to banish any and all tendency to blink, visible or not.

So Bill: Who is Ray and how can get my hands on...a...dongle? :D

If you're being serious (it's hard to tell w/ you) Ray is the "harness guy" over at RallyLights.

I've spoken w/ him before, real nice guy.

EDIT: Geez, I'm starting to sound like I know what I'm talking about. Run away!

I'm always serious. In fact, some peeps call me BB, which is short for Bill Belichick, cuz I'm so humorless. I'm not making that crap up. :D

Call Ray at 610-944-3233.

The "dongle" will be a short harness with a diode to smooth out the voltage modulations. Just explain your lights and needs.
Thanks for the info, Karl. I'll be hitting Ray up for a pair of his fabled "dongles" soon. :thumb:

Hey Karl :wavey:

Did you give him a call today? Hope he didn't cuss much when you mentioned my name. :D
Thanks Brian. Same harness ordered and Ray states he is thinking of adding it as a standard offering. After all that, I gave him the name but it didn't seem to mater. He states he's waiting for a connector shipment being sent 2 day delivery and then he intends to bang a bunch of harnesses out. He gave me a two week window. Thanks again :thumb:

I have the Cibies and bulbs ordered too and likely will go with IPF 900 drivers when the AEV conversion happens and will already have the harness in place.

Np Karl.

Yeah, he said the same to me....about 2 weeks behind....I need to get some more mods on order. I'm going through withdrawals. :)

I have the JW Speakers from Josh at the Chrome shop and harness from rally lights. After much trouble shooting they are back and shinning after drowning them. I love them, and the look hella cool

I contacted Daniel Stern to get a harness when I thought I was going to go with the JW's. I bought it from him and when it arrived it had been shipped from rallylights, which I thought was weird.

BTW, I meant plug and play as in "no need to mess around with the airbag sensor and shaving down the plastic ring."

Truck Lites is working on yet another revision of the 7" round LED headlamps, dubbed the Phase 7. It will use two high-powered LEDs -- one for high beam, the other for low -- in a reflector set up with a fluted polycarbonate lens like traditional headlamps. Should be different than all their others. Hopefully we can get some photometry data!!

Daniel gets his harnesses from Ray over at Susquehanna MotorSports / RallyLights.com.
