Since day 1 I have experienced a "clunk" from the driveline when letting out the clutch between gears. The only way to avoid it is to slip the clutch a tiny bit between shifts to get a smooth shift amd then I only get it right about 1/2 the time with the delay in the drive by wire.

Now the clunk is accompanied with a metallic chirp/squeak almost as if something is lose. More to come. Stay tuned for a news story if they tell me "It's supposed to do that or "It's a Jeep".

Does it do this when you rev match perfectly? Because of the heavy flywheel if you don't match revs and let the clutch out too fast you can get a clunk. Eventually rev matching gets easier but the fly by wire throttle doesn't help it

Fortunately I don' t have to do any rev-matching downshifting in my normal drivign since most of my commute is getting up to speed and then slowing down for traffic lights to a stop.

But yes, I do attempt to rev match when shifting up or down. The ratios in the transmission equate to a 400-500 difference in RPM between changes. However, this does not ensure a smooth shift. The ONLY way to do it is to let the clutc absorb some of the differential in trans vs. engine RPM There is such a delay in pressing the throttle to RPM increase (drive by wire taking it's sweet time). It has taken nearly 6,000 miles of driving to not get whiplash between gears. (that is an exaderation but you get my point).

I noticed this too when I first drove the Jeep.

I was able to adjust to it within about 75 miles. I guess all the years of driving different sports cars with ridiculous clutch setups has made me a fast learner.

Mine has the same behavior. The only way I found to avoid the clunk is to rev the engine to 3800-4000 rpm before shifting. Smooth as butter. Once you shift below that there is 50% chance of whiplash. My guess is lots of slack in the drive line. My 2000 TJ never does this.

Shifting at higher RPM does help a LOT. I'ts just fustrating when tryign to take it easy shifiting at 2500 or a tad less and CLUNK!!

I will let the dealer have a look at it and report back.

It's normal for these transmissions. The dealer won't be able to do anything because there's nothing to do. They're not made for an "easy" shift. Drive it normal and shift when you're supposed to. You're really not going to save fuel by taking it easy and it will "clunk" if it's "babied".

I have a 2014 6speed JK with the same noises, I have a tennis shoe chirp/squeak when letting the clutch out in first and sometimes shifting to second gear. It also clunks at times when you don't shift smooth.

The chirp seems to related to a shift in torque on the motor.

Let me know what the dealer says.
