My wife has a 2014 JK, and her front windows suddenly stopped working. won't go down. I was told she could have kicked the plug under the dash or possibly a fuse.

Her rear windows work and so do door locks. Just wondering if there's anything else I can check. thanks.

Hi Kevine001,

I don't have any repair advice, but if you decide to use your Jeep dealership for service, I would be happy to reach out to them if needed!

My wife just texted me and said that her windows are now working. go figure. thank you though

Mine had a gremlin every once in a while where the windows stop working. Turning the jeep completely off and on resets it

I believe the windows are on a thermal circuit breaker so if you keep your fingers on the button(s) long enough with the windows full up/down the breaker will pop and it takes a few minutes for it to reset itself

Glad it started working again.

This happened to me this morning! I was thinking - didn't I just see a WF post on this? I'm hoping that it starts working again when I go home tonight.

Mine on my 2011 have decided not to work a couple of times. You just have to turn off the Jeep for about 10 minutes and let the computer come to its senses, then they work again.

I guess it's a Jeep thing.

Mine just did this yesterday (2012 JK), this was the second time I've had it happen. What was really strange was they would go up, just not down.

Restarted at the next red light and they worked fine again. Stresses me out not knowing what is causing it.

You know how your computer sometimes freezes for no good reason?

The power windows go through the Jeep's computer, and sometimes it freezes for no good reason as well.

It's very common on all year JK's. What usually works is cycling the ignition. If that doesn't work a battery disconnect/connect should take care of it. Basically, it's a computer re-boot that allows the window switches to be recognized as long as there's no mechanical issue.

Happened to me for the first time today, I rolled the front windows up before I went into the store then I went to leave and they would not roll back down. I was like what the heck, rear windows were not affected. I drove home and forgot about it until now. So hopefully tomorrow they will work again since I never tried cycling the ignition.

Sounds like TIPM issues

Disconnecting the battery, discharging the components by touching the battery terminals together may fix the issue temporarily (more drastic that just turning off the ignition), but it will likely require something more eventually.

Keep your eyes on all the electrical stuff! My 2014's radiator fan stopped turning on when the engine heated up, resulting in major engine overheating. Took several trips to the dealer. They'd reset the computer and it would work fine for a couple weeks, then, BAM, down again. After the fifth trip it finally threw a code they could see. It was the ENTIRE fuse box. I guess they had a ton of bad fuse boxes in Jeep and Chrysler vehicles. The tech said usually it was the windows or door locks would stop working, however they'd seen a few headlights and radiator fans.

So keep an eye on it, could be the fuse box is faulty.

Hi goSlo and BOSSTANK,
If you do ever wish to bring this to the dealer to have this looked into further. Please let us know. Just send our team a private message with additional details.
