The exhaust produces a puff of bluish smoke are startup. 2014 JKU 17,000 miles. Anyone else have this issue? If so, what was the fix?
I searched and didn't find anything.
Thanks

3.8 and 3.6 engines don't usually smoke upon start up. If it does there could be some oil pushing through and you'll initially get a small amount of smoke. It stops because the cats burn it off as they heat up. Take it in under warranty and let the dealer diagnose it.

More likely than not, you are viewing water vapor, not oil.

What ever came of the smoke. Mine's doing it now. I'm assuming it to be valve guides....might be the famous 2012 head issue. 67k miles.

I had the same issue up until 20k when it developed a leak.. turned out head gasket was faulty. After head gasket replacement (port side) no more smoke on start up or oil consumpition between oil changes. Take it in for service and have them pressure test the head gasket. It will be covered under extended power train warranty. Mine was 2015 btw.
