Hi guy!
Question for you,
I just purchased a brand new Jeep Wrangler JK 2018 with less than 2000 miles on it. And for some reason everytime I Drive a short distance my car won’t start again. Example; last night I left my house to go food shopping when I was done I went to go start my car and it wouldn’t start, lights were on but Jeep wouldn’t crank over. It’s getting very frustrating when you have to sit in the parking lot with your brand new Jeep that won’t start. Driving to work is fine but doing quick stops isn’t. Is anyone else having this issues or know why it’s doing this. As the dealership isn’t helping. I still have 50 days to give the car back, but I would rather fix it.
Please help
Thanks!!!

Is your JK an automatic? Some forum members have reported a similar issue on JK's with automatics transmissions.

Yes, its an automatic, but the dealership doesn't know what's wrong with it.
I am going to bring the jeep to a different place tomorrow to see if they can figure it out.

@Megan33 ... also, when you tried to start it, would you hear 1 click? If so, it could be the negative battery terminal.
no clicks, at least not that I can remember

The jeep dealership had it all day and said that they don't know whats wrong with it but will continue to look tomorrow.
I told them about the wiring harness in the transmission, and he told me I was wrong even after I showed him all of this information. . . I am going to try one more dealership and see if they will listen to what I have to say.

Does anyone know of a good dealership around Orange Country NY?

@Megan33 ok. It sounded like a similar issue to mine, but seems like it isn’t.

Mine would click and turn off the interior lights. It was at the dealer and they didn’t know what it was. I narrowed it to the battery and their “Master Tech” confirmed, BUT he stated that my jeep doesn’t have an oem battery, and it might not even be the correct battery size that’s why the terminal is loose. A lot of conniving techs out there.

Come to find out that a forum member stated that the oem terminal is actually smaller than battery post.

I picked up my jeep yesterday because the dealership said they don't know what to do. . . . . . smh Even after I told them what it was, and what you have been telling me. . .

So I am bring it back to the original dealership I got the Jeep from.
But I found the Re-call number so hopefully they will be willing to fix the problem.

If it’s a 2018 then it should have a factory warranty on it so take it back to the dealer and let them figure out what the factory didn’t do correctly.

If dealer can not solve problem, call Jeep. Number should be on owners manual. No reason to put up with getting the run around.

OP - you have a reply in this thread from Jeep Cares. They are Jeep customer service. Send them a PM through the forum with the details of where you took it and the lack of service. They should be able to help you find a dealer that will actually fix it.
