I am running a 3.5 Rubicon Express with 35s and gas bilstien shocks. Did that guy install the exhaust extension and still rubbed? I have not fully extended mine yet on a trail so that concerns me. On my 2015 JKU with Mikey Thompson 315 17 12.5 I got right at 79". Now that is from the next to last bar for soft top which is the highest I think. I know cause when I got home from the lift I had my wife on a stool with a flashlight making sure I was not going to hit the roof of the garage door opening.....lol I had 3/4" to spare. It was a little intense for a second lol

Get underneath a Jeep with a 3.5" lift and see how there is some but limited clearance between the boot and exhaust crossover shield. If you keep the flex to a minimum it could last longer. The other thing to consider is operating angle, the CV joints are not designed to operate at large angles continuously so they may eventually fail. Unlike the first, this second form of failure can offer no warning.
When picked the Rubicon Express 3.5 lift I asked a lot of questions. Even at the dealer to make sure they were mod friendly. I did include the exhaust space as I thought it was necessary. I asked about Ujoints etc and the DS nor the CV joint was mentioned. Now I am concerned. Mine is a 2015 JKU sport and my DD. What should I change or install to ensure I don't have any issue with the DS or CV joints. I am in GA and the trails I have access to are basically forest trials and I highly doubt I would do rock crawling with a DD. That is of course until I pay it off and get a second ride. Thanks for the advice.

Too many variables. I usually say run them until they die. Just be ready if it's your daily driver.
So are you saying a 3.5 lifted DD should see none of these issues with light trails and no full extensions? Or since I lifted it there is above normal wear and tear no matter what and should expect DS, u joint and CV joint issues down the road?
